I built That Good Good because intimate care was never designed with us in mind.
For years, I dealt with what I assumed was just part of having the kind of skin and hair texture I have. Itching after a shower. Dryness after a workout. Irritation after waxing. Hyperpigmentation from ingrown hairs that never fully cleared. Razor bumps in areas where the products on the market simply weren't built for curly hair or melanin-rich skin.
I tried everything. Every body wash, every serum, every spray marketed as "feminine" or "intimate." Most of them were too fragranced, too harsh, or not formulated with my skin in mind. The few products that claimed to help often made things worse — disrupting my skin's balance rather than supporting it.
Mainstream personal care was built for someone else.
The personal care industry has long operated with a default consumer in mind — and that consumer was not Black women, women of color, or women with melanin-rich skin and tighter hair textures. The intimate care category, in particular, has been almost entirely neglected when it comes to the specific needs of our skin.
Melanin-rich skin is more prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Tightly coiled or curly pubic hair textures are more susceptible to ingrown hairs. The bikini and intimate areas are semi-mucosal zones that require particular attention to pH balance and skin barrier integrity. These are biological realities — not preferences — and they were simply not being addressed.
I wasn't finding solutions because the solutions hadn't been built yet. So I started building them.
Melanin-rich skin requires formulations that respect its unique biology. From heightened sensitivity to post-inflammatory pigmentation, to the specific challenges of post-hair-removal care for tighter hair textures — the science of intimate care must start with the right skin in mind.
Not just a product. A research-backed approach.
That Good Good was not built to be another beauty brand. It was built to be a science-driven personal care company — one that takes the specific biological needs of melanin-rich and semi-mucosal skin seriously and builds products with testing, data, and formulation rigor in mind.
From the beginning, my focus has been on understanding the science: the role of pH in external intimate skin health, how the microbiome interacts with the skin barrier, how post-hair-removal trauma contributes to ingrown hairs in tighter hair textures, and how to build cosmetic formulas that genuinely respect all of that.
Every product in development at That Good Good is designed to help skin look and feel smoother, more even-toned, and more comfortable — without disrupting the skin's natural environment. No harsh fragrances. No unnecessary chemicals. No one-size-fits-all assumptions.

This is just the beginning.
That Good Good is building a full line of science-backed cosmetic personal care products — each one developed with melanin-rich skin in mind. From post-shave balms and brightening treatments to intimate care creams and hair removal innovations, every product is designed to fill a gap that the mainstream industry has ignored.
We are building for partners, for funders, for labs, and above all — for the women who have been underserved by an industry that wasn't thinking about them. That changes now.
If you've ever felt like personal care products weren't made for you — they weren't. We're changing that.
